BIG EAST Tournament, No. 2 Bulls vs No. 7 Panthers, Tuesday 8 p.m.

The University of South Florida baseball team had to win one of three games going into the final series of the regular season against the Louisville Cardinals, but they came up short. The Cardinals swept the Bulls 2-1, 4-3 and 12-1 to win the BIG EAST regular season title. USF found themselves in second place in their conference for the fifth time ever, and the first time since joining the BIG EAST. Their last second place finish came in the Metro Conference when the Bulls went 11-7.

USF will be the No. 2 seed going into the BIG EAST Tournament. The Bulls will be taking on the Pittsburgh Panthers, the No. 7 seed in the tournament on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. The Bulls swept the Panthers at the beginning of April this year 8-1, 13-5 and 10-8 behind great hitting and pitching. Look for Randy Fontanez to take the mound for the Bulls on Tuesday night.
