Klotz's Late Goal Propels USF in Big East Tourney

USF SOCCER STADIUM - The USF women's soccer team advanced to the next round of the Big East Tournament on a late goal by Chelsea Klotz. The Bulls defeated DePaul 1-0.

A poor kick by DePaul goalkeeper Claire Hanold set up a one-on-one breakaway for Klotz, who beat Hanold and placed it in the far back corner of the net.

The game was a defensive battle with very few scoring chances for either team. The Bulls had six shots on goal and DePaul had only four. Turnovers played a key role in the game as neither team was able to gain momentum or create many offensive opportunities. Both defenses played strong and allowed very little penetration throughout the game.

The play of South Florida's senior goalkeeper Mallori Lofton-Malachi was outstanding as she made four very difficult saves.

The Bulls will face Notre Dame in the next round of the Big East Tournament at 1p.m. on Sunday in South Bend, Ind.
