skipholtz.jpeg

Skip Holtz will be named the new head football coach at the University of South Florida on Friday. Holtz leaves an East Carolina program that he led to back-to-back Conference USA championships.

Holtz coached ECU for five seasons, compiling a 38-27 record. He was also formerly the head coach of the University of Connecticut during their FCS era from 1994-1998.

Holtz is the son of ESPN analyst Lou Holtz, most known to USF fans for his infamous bumble bee speech prior to the Bulls game against West Virginia in 2007.

Holtz will become only the second head coach in USF history, replacing the fired Jim Leavitt.
