The work you do at Bulls Radio will be rewarding and satisfying to students interested in furthering their career in media and journalism. They will be given the opportunity to interview people otherwise unreachable. Students this semester in the news department have interviewed Herman Cain, Jane Goodall and the cast from MTV’s “The Buried Life,” to name a few.
If someone is visiting the area who you think is newsworthy, you may have the opportunity to meet them!
The positions available are Associate Director of Programing, Associate Director of Business as well as three field writers, one copy-editor and an Associate Director of News.
The Associate Director of Business is the financial officer of Bulls Radio. This director is expected to manage the budget, purchasing and payroll of the radio station.
Field writers are primarily responsible for writing, but will also have the opportunity to communicate news using photos, video and audio. We will teach you how to use our equipment!
The sports coordinator position is responsible for assisting the sports director with running all aspects of the sports department. This individual will be in charge of scheduling broadcast teams and overseeing a department of twenty or more sports broadcasters.
The sports field writer works with the news department to write feature stories on the on-goings of athletics on the campus of the University of South Florida.
The media coordinator works with the media director to help promote and advertise Bulls Radio to the students. This individual is in charge of working with the station to promote its image as best as possible.
