Women’s Soccer Defeats Kennesaw State 2-0

CHARLESTON -- USF (4-3) came away with a 2-0 win over Kennesaw State (3-4) at the College of Charleston Classic in South Carolina on Sunday afternoon.

Demi Stokes connected with the net from 25-yards out in the 27th minute to give the Bulls a 1-0 lead.

The Owls Katrina Frost led the way offensively for her team taking a total of three shots, two of which were on goal.

The domination by the Bulls continued as Jackie Simpson scored in the 79th minute off a pass from teammate Sarah Miller.

Goalkeeper Melissa Hutto had her hands full with the Bulls offense, making five saves over the duration of the match.

USF outshot the Owls 13-4 and allowed only two shots on goal. Both were saved by USF goalkeeper Christiane Endler.

USF returns home Sunday, September 16 at 1 p.m. to host Pittsburgh in the Big East opener at Corbett Soccer Stadium.
