Bulls Swept by Central Michigan in Season Finale

Coming off a Big East Tournament run, the Bulls season came to a close on Saturday with a straight-set loss to Central Michigan at the Corral.

TAMPA- Coming off a Big East Tournament run which saw the Bulls advance to the semifinal round, USF was unable to secure a win against Central Michigan in its final game of the season on Saturday night.

The Bulls finished their season with a 17-15 record after being swept by Central Michigan (23-25, 16-25, 20-25). The Chippewas outperformed USF, as they outhit the Bulls .361 to .243 on the night.

The first set was tied 15 times and included five lead changes before Central Michigan (16-14) was able to grab the set 25-23.

The second set was another story, as the Chippewas controlled it with ease winning 25-16. The Bulls were unable to come back in the third set as they lost 25-20.

USF’s top performers on the night were Big East freshman of the Year Erin Fairs with 13 kills and five digs, and senior J’beria Davis with eight kills and six digs.

The Bulls’ 17 wins in 2012 were five more than USF totaled the previous season.
