Call it experience or skill: Andrea Smith led a dominating handle in a Bulls’ win over Seton Hall, 74-52 on Tuesday night. With 21 points and six rebounds, Smith helped prevent the Seton Hall Pirates from ever taking control in the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Throughout the first half, the Bulls were able to create possessions by controlling the rebounds. For a strong majority of the minutes, the Bulls had at least three players that played either center or power forward. Claiming offensive rebounds gave second-chance opportunities for safer and more open shots.
Furthermore, with a combined 84.8% free throw percentage accompanying seven players with at least three rebounds, it can be said that this victory was a well-rounded display of involving the bench to take down Seton Hall.
At 13-5 overall and 2-3 in the Big East, the Bulls return home on Saturday to host Marquette at 6 p.m.
