Free Food Friday weekly: 4/20 - 4/26

Get ready for a week full of bustling banquets and emotional eateries as we bring on the summer in this week’s Free Food Friday!

This time around, students can catch Take Back the Night in the Marshall Student Center Amphitheater, catch a free flick at the WUSF Station and get in touch with their inner loco at M.A.S.A.’s final festivities.

Time is running out to take advantage of this spring’s feasting opportunities! Stop wasting time NOT attending the free food you rightfully deserve!


Friday, April 20:

Take Back the Night
6:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
MSC Amphitheater
Details: The first event of this week is N.I.T.E.’s sixth annual Take Back the Night event, calling all students, faculty, and sexual violence survivors. The event is sure to provide to be a powerful, moving evening, full with a candle-light vigil, silent march, and special guest speakers. Free pizza and goodie bags will be available to all attendees at the event, which will occur rain-or-shine. Don’t miss it!

Saturday, April 21:

End of the Year Banquet: "Hello to New Beginnings!"
7:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
MSC 3707
Details: Join USF’s Club Creole for their End of the Year Banquet, honoring those who have contributed to the organization during the past school year. Note: This is a formal event with plenty of food and entertainment to go around. Participants will also get to meet Club Creole’s new executive board for the 2012-2013 school year.

Monday, April 23:

Uniform Betrayal: Rape in the Military
11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
WUSF Station
Details: Hop on down to the WUSF Station to catch a free screening of Jennifer Molina and Sarah Pusateri’s film, “Uniform Betrayal,” about sexual abuse and trauma in the armed forces, followed by a panel discussion. Food and refreshments will be provided along with the showing.

Tuesday, April 24:

M.A.S.A. Banquet
7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
MSC Ballroom C
Details: What is it with banquets this week? It’s time for the Mexican-American Student Association’s end of semester banquet, fully loaded with free food, dancing, music and awards. Seriously, what’s not to love about that?
