Bulls Come Up Short at Rutgers

USF lost a heartbreaker to Rutgers by three points on Thursday night. Martino Brock missed a last-second three point opportunity which left the Bulls with a 70-67 loss to the Scarlet Knights.

Four bulls scored double figures in the points category. Victor Rudd and Anthony Collins each scored 11, Javontae Hawkins had 10, and Jawanza Poland led the team with 17 points off the bench. Poland complimented his scoring with five assists and one steal.

As a team USF shot an impressive 53.8% from the field in the first half which accumulated into 30 points in the first half. In the second half USF was lethargic and did not score any second chance or turn over points, and Rutgers out-scored the Bulls 24-8 in the paint during the second half.

USF dropped to 9-7 on the season and 0-4 in the Big East. The Bulls’ next matchup is Saturday at home versus the Georgetown Hoyas at 6 p.m.
