The USF men's basketball team is having a rough start to its Big East season. After getting their first conference win over Georgetown Saturday, the Bulls headed to New Jersey hoping to start a streak. The result: a 55-47 loss to Seton Hall.

The Bulls (10-8, 1-5) never had a lead in the game after the Pirates (13-6, 2-4) scored the first five points. USF pulled the deficit to within one point before Seton Hall went on a 9-0 run.

A Jawanza Poland three at the buzzer made it a 29-22 Pirates lead at half.

Out of the break USF again came within one, scoring six straight points. Seton Hall responded with five points of its own to pull ahead until the finish.

Despite having 17 turnovers, the Pirates out-rebounded the Bulls 34-20 and shot 52 percent from the floor.

For the second straight game the Bulls were held to under 40 percent shooting. The team also struggled from behind the arc going 3-for-19.

Poland led the team from the bench scoring 13, and Toarlyn Fitzpatrick added 10 points of his own.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Pirates, who were led by Fuquan Edwin with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Next the Bulls look to rebound at home on Saturday afternoon. They take on No. 24 Notre Dame at 12 p.m.
